Hello y'all and thank you for your sweet comments!  We've been busy preparing our garden for winter, and recently helped our neighbor butcher a deer, which was a blessed time of fellowship.  We've also been making lots and lots of soap.  Our vegetables in our hoop house are off to a great start.  We harvested 8 5 gallon buckets of worm castings about a month ago and the wigglers are working hard so we will be harvesting hopefully that much more of Black Golds again in a few days (by the way did you know you can feed these wonder worms to your chickens and that it is pure protein?).  We washed wool in tubs and used the left over wash water, which has lanolin and sheep manure, to fertilize our fall garden.  Once the cold weather sets in, we will get goin' on our winter crafting projects, and by the way you might check out our Crafting DVD for gift giving ideas for the holiday season!

Have a blessed fall!

I think the way you used the water after awshing the wool is fantastic...:) :) Have a lovely weekend. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Hi West Ladies!
I found your blog months ago and was instantly inspired, and quite frankly, jealous. As I sit in the midst of such a busy and stressful life (and really not getting ahead anyways) I long to just take my two kids and another one on the way and my husband to a place like you live and live another way than what we are doing! It's just not possible though, but I pray God will give us the opportunity one day. We have amish here in Canada near us and I am inspired by the way they live. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for the inspiration you are. I hope one day our paths cross and I get to meet you wonderful ladies.

What a busy time you are having there. We always enjoy your updates. I do have a question - what are worm castings?
I didn't know that about the wool - washing it is good for the garden. We've always sent ours off to the wool purchasers who do all that, but I have considered keeping a couple of fleeces to play with - will have to next time we shear!
I hope you have a wonderful autumn.
God bless
Renata:)

I just received all 11 of your dvds as a birthday gift (thank you hubby!). My son and I have already watched 3 of them and absolutely love them.

I have three questions that would be interesting to know:

Have you always lived in a homesteading situation or did you come from a different background?

Is that your kitchen or a studio for recording your dvds?

Will you ever do a dvd that shows a tour of your entire homestead?

Thank you!

Love you guys! I have purchased all of your videos and am anxiously awaiting more to come (if that is your plan)! I have loved working on all the projects in your videos this winter. I have to say that my favorite is making candles.
Thank you for being such a blessing!
