Well, we woke up this morning to a beautiful little blanket of snow on the ground, much to our surprise.
Just two nights before we had an incredible storm move through leaving it's twisting path behind.
We have somewhere between 30 to 50 trees down in a tangled mess on the ridge just about 400 yards behind our house.
We are very thankful to the Lord that nothing but trees and fence lines were down and that no people or animals were injured.
The newest {and prettiest} addition to the farm, a two year old palomino filly!
She's a little muddy, but she'll clean up nice. We have not named her yet and she is only halter broke- so we have our work cut out for us this spring. Fun work! :)
Fleck in the snow.
We got our birdhouses in a row.
Enjoying the morning sun with Maybelline.
Beautiful snow on some cedar trees.
By the way, we wanted to let y'all know that our Specialty Soaps, Homesteaders Soaps and Rolling Pin Recipe Card Holders are on sale while supplies last, so drop by www.homestead-blessings.com

Oh my....beautiful :) the palomino filly is just lovely... thank you so much for sharing your day with me today...
So glad you all are safe from the storms! I just watched your DVD on the Art of Sewing and wanted to thank you so much for your fun, simple instructions!!! Your family is such a blessing! My hubby and I have the dream of a "homestead" someday ~ Lord willing ~ and we are slowing reading and learning about doing so. For the meantime, we are trying to bloom right where we are planted. I can't wait to start some sewing projects with our daughter ~ she's six and very interested.
Thankful for you all and praying you all have a blessed year ahead!
Blessings~

It must be the season for wild weather where ever you are. We live in Northern NSW Australia, and we have had the most fierce summer storms and floodings this past week. We ended up with the kids trampoline across the road, many tree limbs down and a leeking roof in the kitchen! But we are all safe and well. Keep yourselves safe and warm.
So glad you are all were kept safe through the storm...and you are right...lots of wonderful firewood God has provided for you! :)
Loved all the pictures! Have a lovely weekend!
Warmly,
Katy :)
I have been purchasing raw dairy milk for my family. I purchased your Art of Dairy DVD and now I am hooked on all your DVD's! They are beyond informational. Your DVD's give us back our natural "survival" skills. I find it amazing how we lost our basic skills to self-produce food in such a short period of time. I am happy to see a growing movement towards self-sufficiency. I truly think God is working through you to bring these important skills back to people! My 5 and 6 year olds have been watching your DVD's over and over again. They are excited to put their knowledge into action very shortly!!!
i was wondering if you guys have ever used rubber snakes in the garden to scare away garden pest and if so did it work!
Beautiful photos!! I just got done watching your Homestead Blessings DVD on sewing. Curious to know what the exact pattern you used on the shirt that was sewn. I've been to the fabric store, but haven't been able to find the exact peasant blouse pattern.
